Opera Mobile App Store Launched

Well now it looks like just about everyone wants to get in on the mobile app store game as the word is that Opera has now launched their own mobile app store called funnily enough, Opera Mobile App Store.

According to an article over on Ubergizmo, the Opera Mobile App Store is for all mobile phones and devices that use Opera Mobile and Opera Mini browsers and user’s can gain access to the Opera Mobile App Store by heading for mobilestore.opera.com via their device browser.

Users can then choose their current operating system and begin browsing the App Store apps, and Opera Mobile App Store is available in over two hundred countries across the globe.

On browsing the Opera Mobile App Store say from your Android smartphone you’ll probably find that numerous apps are familiar as the mobile applications are not exclusive to the Opera Mobile App Store.

On checking the Opera Mobile App Store from my PC I chose the Android OS and there are several apps available, mostly free and there are tabs that enable the user to select featured, new, top 50 and categories.

On clicking on an app you are taken to a page that shows a descriptions of the app, details like languages and a download button, when hitting the download button you are taken to a page to select your device and once selected you choose which language the app needs to be in and then download to your device.

The platform options on the Opera Mobile App Store are currently Android, BlackBerry, Palm, Windows Mobile, Symbian, and Java but funnily enough no iOS, not that I could see anyway. So, will you be using the Opera Mobile App Store on occasion?
