Shashi Fernando to head up HTC’s content division

HTC brings in founder and CEO of digital delivery services company Saffron Digital as chief content officer

HTC has appointed Shashi Fernando as chief content officer. He will report directly to HTC chief executive Peter Chou and be based at the company’s headquarters in Taoyuan in Taiwan.

Fernando’s main focus will be to leads the company’s global content strategy and business and regional development.

Prior to joining HTC, Fernando (pictured) was chief executive of Saffron Digital, a company he founded in 2006 to provide digital delivery services to third party clients. Saffron Digital was acquired by HTC in February.

HTC chief executive Peter Chou said: “Shashi has tremendous experience in the content industry and I am excited to have him leading HTC’s content strategy. Content will continue to be a crucial part of our overall proposition and future success.

Fernando said: “I’m tremendously excited to be working on HTC’s content strategy and look forward to bringing new content and services to HTC customers around the world.”
