Sony Ericsson Xperia Play to be Unveiled in the UK on March 31

Seeing that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play can be already pre-ordered in the UK, but there are still a few weeks left until it hit the shelves. As we all are aware of the fact that the new Android smartphone would be available to British customers starting March 28.

But however that’s not exactly accurate. Sony Ericsson’s marketing director for UK and Ireland told MVC that the Xperia Play would be released in the last day of the month, on March 31, coming with six PlayStation games pre-installed. The handset will be available in the UK via pretty much all mobile carriers and retailers.

It could be even sold through alternative channels, like games stores – although that’s not yet confirmed. Xperia Play is the world’s first PlayStation certified phone. It runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and features a 4 inch FWVGA display, 1GHz Processor, 5MP camera, and, of course, a sliding gamepad. Unlocked, it could cost up to 500.
