Rogers BlackBerry Bold 9700 upgrade to OS 6 now available
Continuing the BlackBerry 6 upgrade roll out in Canada, Rogers is the latest carrier to offer up this OS update for their Bold 9700-using subscribers. There haven’t been any untoward incidents reported so far regarding this update, but it’s still better to err on the side of caution, and back up first before anything else.

Apple’s iPhone 5 design includes aluminium case, new antenna
It’s still a long ways to go before we see the newest iPhone, but if this rumor turns out to be true, we’ll be seeing it clad in aluminum with a better located antenna. This is what’s being suggested from the current reports coming from China. We’re pretty skeptical about the material change, but the antenna redesign seems pretty logical at this point given the whole antenna-gate fiasco.

Samsung Galaxy Pro combines 2.8-inch touchscreen with a portrait QWERTY keyboard, modest specs
Sammy’s unveiled their newest QWERTY Android phone in the form of the the Samsung Galaxy Pro. This Froyo handset runs on an 800Mhz processor, and sports a 2.8-inch touchscreen complemented by a ful QWERTY keypad, a 3-megapixel autofocus camera at the back with WiFi (b/g/n), Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, and HSDPA connectivity to boot. No word yet on pricing and if and when it’ll become available in the North American region, but it will definitely be available in the UK via Three.

TELUS investing $670 million in British Columbia
I guess the tittle already says it all. Telus is investing a whopping $670 million to improve their services in British Columbia, including, but not limited to, the set up 76 new cell sites. Already providing 4G network service to 99% of BC, their continued expansion will bring Telus to more rural areas, and will no doubt stregthen their coverage in the region.

Bell to offer iPad 2 plans
To end today’s news round-up, we received word from Bell that they too iPad 2 data plans. They didn’t go into specifics, but did confirm they’ll be rolling it out “in the coming weeks.” That’s two down – Rogers and Bell – and though Telus hasn’t made any announcements yet, we’re pretty sure they won’t be far behind.
