Earlier this week a several of RIM’s 2011 line-up got leaked online including a brand new Curve handset codenamed the Apollo. Now, we have live snapshots of what appears to be the actual device, and according to N4BB who scored these exclusive photos, its real codename is actually the Sedona and not Apollo. There was a Curve Apollo, but never really made it into production so there is some truth to BGR’s earlier report. Anyway, on to the BlackBerry Sedona we have for you guys today. We’ve already touched on most of its specs in the previous post, and the good thing is it’s all there.
The high-resolution display, the 5-megapixel camera, 512MB RAM are all confirmed to part of the package as well as the new BlackBerry 6.1 OS.
Speaking of the point upgrade to BlackBerry 6, while we still don’t know a lot about it, one confirmed new feature here is a new notification bar that appears at the top similar of the display very much similar to Android. The improvements are so good that they even went as far as to say that it “feels like a Bold 9780” but thinner.
All good news, but one thing in this report that might disappoint those eagerly waiting for this new RIM smartphone to be released is that the current BlackBerry 6.1 build is apparently still pretty buggy. Unless they can fix this in a jiff, it might take some time before the Sedona hits the market.
