No Death Grip Problems For The Verizon iPhone 4

Is an iPhone 4 by any other carrier still the same signal-losing iPhone 4?  Apparently not, as the Verizon iPhone 4 has managed to shed the death grip issue that affected many GSM iPhone 4 users.

At least, that's according to Slashgear, who managed to get their hands on one and put it through the usual paces.  The results should warm the hearts of anyone considering the new handset, as they reported no signal loss even after covering the handset at multiple points.

What does this mean?  If "antennagate" discouraged you from getting an iPhone 4, Verizon has an option that won't subject you through the same fate.  That's a big deal, considering how much of an issue the whole death grip thing became during the first couple of months for the iPhone 4.

This also means the Verizon iPhone 4 isn't just the exact same phone with a CDMA chipset slapped on.  Some amount of redesign was made -- one that allowed it to leave that old problem behind.
