HTC Flyer, HTC’s First Android Tablet Breaks Cover Sans Honeycomb

The Apple iPhone pioneered a great smartphone war and we as consumers have really enjoyed the splurge of smartphones which have surfaced ever since. Then Apple came out with the iPad and the competitors also looked to cash in with Samsung hitting in first with its partially successful Galaxy Tablet. The latest kid on the block though is the HTC Flyer which as expected broke cover at the high profile MWC.

The release was obviously expected at the event but what wasn’t expected was the absence of the Honeycomb version of the Android OS. Instead, the HTC Flyer has arrived with the Gingerbread on board and the cause is assisted by the HTC Sense UI altered of course to suite the tablet needs.

The 7-inch tablet features a TFT display and is powered by a 1.5 GHz single-core CPU with 1 GB RAM. Also, amongst other attractions there is 32 GB Flash storage on offer, which could make this tablet stand out in the crowd.

microSD slot expansion is also an option while the online cloud gaming availability just adds to the spice of the HTC Flyer. We expect to see this tablet in the market by the second quarter of this year and it will be interesting to see the takers for this attractive gadget.
