The first images of the successor to the Motorola Droid X in the Droid X 2 have surfaced along with preliminary specifications.
The Droid X 2 will feature an identical featureset to the ATRIX 4G/Droid Bionic with an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 960×540 resolution display, 3G with no 4G LTE radio, 8.0 megapixel camera with HD video recording and dual LED flash, Froyo with possible Gingerbread update before launch, MOTOBlur update inline with the Droid Bionic, FM radio with RDS, locked and encrypted bootloader with no dedicated camera button.
Provided the device passes initial testing, launch is expected for the second quarter of the year.
