MWC:T-Mobile says iPhone 5 will be “NFC ready”

Operator says iPhone 5 likely to offer NFC and will boost NFC handset sales to 785 million by 2015

T-Mobile said today it “anticipates” the Apple iPhone 5 to be NFC ready.

Speaking at the 2011 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona today, it said it expects shipments of NFC handsets to top 785 million by 2015.

It also said Samsung is planning to launch an NFC device in Q2 this year, with BlackBerry manufacturer RIM and LG launching in Q3.

It said NFC will “finally” become a default feature on handsets by 2015.
