Verizon Updates V Cast Music for Android Smartphones

For the Android faithful on the Big Red network that own Android smartphones running Android 2.1 or above, you might like to know that Verizon has now updated their V Cast Music service to deliver DRM free music downloads.

According to an article over on Android Community, the Verizon update to V Cast Music now delivers ringtones and full track songs from a single app with DRM free titles costing from $0.69 up to $1.29 per song with all downloads being charged to the users Verizon Wireless bill.

Apparently Verizon Android customers can purchase multiple formats of the same songs at a discounted price in selected bundles rather than having to pay full price for a ringtone or MP3 and thus save cash.

The vice president, Consumer Solutions for Verizon Wireless, Greg Haller, says… “Verizon Wireless is taking a leap forward with V CAST Music. We’re bringing the different kinds of music people love to have on their phones together in one, easy-to-use application, making it easy for customers to get what they want at lower prices.”

Apparently customers who use V Cast Music will receive a prompt to update the application the next time they open the app or for customers without V Cast Music they can download the free updated version from the Android Market.
