US Business Non-Handset Wireless Spending Up Nearly 30% 2010 Over 2009

If one is looking for signs that the US economy might be climbing out of a deep deep hole it’s been in for the last two years, one can look at the recent performance in business spending on 3G and 4G non-handset devices such as tablets, notebooks, and e-readers. This segment of US business spending has become a larger portion of the overall business wireless spend, as new In-Stat (www.in-stat.com) research shows that overall spending in this segment was up nearly 30% in 2010 over 2009.

“A key take away from the research is that the non-handset spending increase trend seems to be universal across all sizes of business,” says Greg Potter, Research Analyst. “There are some slight variations in some of the vertical segments but, they too, share a robust 2010 and have a very healthy five-year forecast.”
