The new Asus UX 21 Ultrabook was announced at the end of last month, and we were told that it would retail for under $1,000 now according to DigiTimes, Asus will release the UX21 Ultrabook in September and it will retail for $899.
That would bring the Asus UX21 Ultrabook in at $100 cheaper than the 11 inch MacBook Air which retails for $999, and Asus are obviously looking to compete with the MacBook Air.
As a reminder the Asus UX21 features an 11.6 inch display and will come with an Intel Core i7 processor, as we mentioned previously Asus are attempting to sell the UX21 at around 80 to 90 percent of the MacBook Air’s price.
