For some time now Nokia has been failing on the software front and many rumours have speculated whether it was time for Nokia to move to another platform such as Android or Windows Phone 7. Well apparently Nokia is more favourable towards Microsoft’s new OS.
According to an article over on Engadget by Sean Hollister, Bloomberg is reporting that Nokia is in final negotiations with Microsoft and may announce a software partnership as soon as Friday.
Apparently the Android platform was being considered but has now been set aside in favour of Windows Phone 7, so if all goes ahead we could well see Nokia smartphones running Windows Phone 7 in the not too distant future.
Furthermore the Wall Street Journal also reports that talks are taking place between Nokia and Microsoft with a view to bring Windows Phone 7 to Nokia devices, however apparently reps from Nokia, Microsoft and Android have all declined to comment.
Thus it would appear it is likely the mobile space will find out if Nokia will partner Microsoft going forward at tomorrow’s Nokia event in London.
So what do our readers think about Nokia opting to go with Windows Phone 7 for their future smartphones, rather than Android, a good decision or bad, or should Nokia just continue with their own software?
